“I recently received a commission to paint the mare “Famous.” 
The client gave me carte blanche, but we agreed on the size beforehand: a large format (120×200 cm) for a magnificent horse. On a beautiful winter morning with the sun low on the horizon, I was able to capture stunning images of this magnificent horse. The light was perfect.

A challenge with this painting was working with many dark areas. Acrylic dries matte and darkens significantly after painting. Only when you apply the varnish do you see what you’ve painted there.
